This has been one of the strangest summers in a long time. I’ve actually been caught up with quite a lot of work and then decided to take a few weeks off in September. The month is now drawing to its close and it will be time to once again jump on the work wagon and start getting things done. I managed to get away for a few days to a lovely rural hotel, I’ll be sharing a post soon with lots of photos. And the last “summer” getaway is this weekend, to the Festa de Grafisme in Portbou, which I’m really looking forward to. One Day in Girona
What could be better than slipping off with a very good friend to spend the day in Girona? Just a 90 minute train ride from Barcelona, the small city is filled with wondrous streets that curve on and around themselves, opening up secret corners and secluded gardens.

Everyday brings a new online magazine, a new web or blog where it its possible to discover new information updated practically to the second. This is all very good and nice, but where is the magic?
Madrid in Summer
Although I live here in Barcelona and enjoy life in La Ciudad Condal, I have to admit, even though I know some are going to gnash their teeth, that my heart belongs to Madrid. A short visit this long weekend past, basically to avoid the San Joan firecrackers, revived all utter love affair with Spain’s capital.
