Pipilotti Rist at Barcelona’s Joan Miro Foundation

As the sun continues to beat down unmercifully upon Barcelona, the tourists seem to multiply by the thousands as the days go by and there seems to be less and less to do, this is the moment to fully embrace all the different exhibitions on around the city. The various museums around Montjuïc have really gotten their act together, offering a slew of different art shows and a myriad of activities.

Kupka

Barcelona bids adieu to the Kupka exhibit at Fundación Joan Miró. For those of you who didn’t have a chance to see his paintings, I’m afraid to say, you really missed out. The Fundación’s exhibit space is one of my favourites, well-organized and concise. The beautiful Montjüic surroundings are also a big plus.

Bar Seco, Poble Sec

This week’s Timeout focuses on the Poble Sec neighbourhood, its’ various restaurants, bars, shops and secret places. Unfortunately, they didn’t include one of the best places, Bar Seco. Located at Passeig Montjuic 74, this is an oasis of calm, on the slopes leading up to Montjuic. Do not be put off by its’ “bar de barrio” outside appearance. It has a small terrace of 4 tables which are almost always full and a lovely space inside.
