Lovely Convent Sant Agustí, once again it was necessary to make our way down to Borne to see yet another fashion market held there. Zapato Rojo was on this past weekend, the 19th and 20th of December 2009. The difference this time around was the load of really interesting proposals.

PonetelaRemera!

Ponete la Remera is a Barcelona-based t-shirt company which has seen the niche to create cutely rude sayings from across the Atlantic. An impressive visual impact, simple but effective: black t-shirt with white lettering. The slogan is composed of a dictionary-style entrance. First, the word in big, block lettering, then below, the meaning and a sample of how the word itself is to be used.

I caught up with the lovely Nuria the other day and was able to ask her a few questions about the gorgeous and kitsch collection that she produces under the name of La Virgen de los Broches which translates to The Virgen of Brooches. I had a excellent time with her; she has a contagious laugh and bags of inspiration.

The September Issue

How on earth R.J. Cutler managed to film The September Issue is beyond me. Did Anna Wintour contact him? Did he contact her? Who’s idea was this documentary? Is it a tactic to try and clean Anna’s image after the film based on the book “The Devil Wears Prada” shows a fist-of-iron editor? Written by a disgruntled ex-Vogue worker, Lauren Weisberger loosely based her book on working with Anna. I believe that this documentary is the image that Wintour wishes people to see about herself.

Modafad 28th Edition

The 28th edition of Modafad was held a few days ago on the 4th and 5th of September at it’s usual venue in Plaza del Angels in front of the Macba. Modafad is an association focused on image and fashion, forming part of ADG-FAD, the art directors and graphic designers association in Spain.
