This past Wednesday was awful, a really horrible day. First I had a run-in with the “lovely” folks at the Canadian consulate regarding my passport renewal. It’s so impressive when you come in contact with people who just don’t give a shit. Also, a friend of mine has been carted off to the hospital due to liver complications. Then there is the stacks of work to get done before the end of the year. So, my stress levels were pretty high by the time I went for my second Grinberg session with Charlotte.
After a brief chat to discuss everything that has been going on and how I am dealing with each new situation, we got down to business. Charlotte concentrated on my shoulders, neck and head, where I accumulate much of my tension. Just like I said last time, don’t expect a relaxing massage, this was really painful. There were contracted muscles that didn’t seem to want to spring loose. It was really hard to quiet the 50.000 whirling thoughts in my head.
After awhile, after really concentrating on Charlotte’s instructions and directions, I finally started to understand and be able to let go of the tension in my upper back, neck and head. My body and mind seemed to be finally connecting and I started to feel safe again. To finish off the session, she wrapped me in a warm blanket and let me drift off for a bit, contemplating my new state of mind.
I can’t wait for my next session. I’m starting to understand more about how I react to new situations which create so much stress and nerves for me, so hopefully I’ll be able to re-programme certain ingrained habits. Please don’t hesitate to contact Charlotte if you think you might benefit from the Grinberg Method.
