The young girl is starting to grow up and hold her own with some the others that have been around for quite a lot longer. Joyfully full of colour as always, the Krizia Robustella collection was different this time, with concepts, fabrics and references being more tightly pulled together. There was no lack of quirky motifs but there was an underlying unity that made the pieces pop. Once again, photographer Ana Mogo has worked her magic behind her lens to bring out the best details of the show.
Stripes and pastel shades, ice cream prints and embroidery, Krizia Robustella doesn’t doubt when pulling different elements from her kitschy, quirky pool of references and inspirations. Defining her garments as sports deluxe, this was the first time that some of the pieces could actually be combined in a wardrobe. The garment patterns and assembly may be simple but the key is in the details, such as the scalloped edges and cute sofa-fringing on dresses and skirts.
Simple sneakers, striped caps, bow ties and vivid blue lips completed many of the looks. The music was repetitive and centred on the ice cream theme and the models displayed their usual KR insouciance. Last season, Krizia Robustella garnered both the men and women’s collection prizes, which didn’t go down to well. This time around, she seemed to pick up the slack and was one of the very few mild surprises of 080.
