First it was the end of 2010, then the beginning of 2011 and now finally, the Museum of Ideas & Inventions of Barcelona, MIBA for friends, is set to open its’ doors on the 23rd of March. Gathering from the flurry of activity on their Facebook page, the countdown is on and Barcelona is soon to have a new museum.
Brainchild of inventor Pep Torres, the MIBA is spread over two floors, connected by this glorious slide. Located behind the city-hall, this new museum aims to cast a discerning eye upon creative ideas and inventions. While maintaining the original structure and architectural style, the building will be filled with all sorts of modern design elements. Divided into four different areas, the museum will concentrate on a permanent collection comprised of various sections; temporary exhibitions; Read Room destined for documentation and Lab to carry out experiments, workshops and formation.
There is nothing left to do except to wait for the count-down to end and see what new and wonderful things are hidden behind the MIBA walls.
