Along that strange stretch that connects Plaza Cataluña to Plaza Universitat, lies the new addition to the Woki Organic Market franchise. The three other branches are located in Barceloneta, Born and Gracia. With an up-scale feel and Baluard bakery, this new venue is sure to attract customers looking for healthy food options.
Upon entering Woki Market, one smells the unmistakable scent of fresh bread. The famous Baluard bakery located in Barceloneta has a small outpost here, selling different breads and some sweet treats such as brownies. Directly opposite are located the fresh takeaway options such as daily fruit and/or vegetable shakes, scrumptious-looking salads in recycled cardboard boxes and sushi, among others.
The concept behind Woki Organic Market is really quite clever. Based on street-vendors’ food all over the world, the different dishes are made right in-front of the customers. Although the main focus is on personalised woks, there are also options such as a sushi bar, different salads and even pizzas. So it’s like several different restaurants in one. In each kitchen island dotted around the open space, a different type of dish is being cooked.
There is an array of seating arrangement, from the big table that is dappled with sunlight and surrounded by ecological food to school-style tables and chairs. If you prefer, grab a stool and sit along the counter to see all the cooking action. The staff are cheerful and friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, what’s not to love about Woki Organic Market?
