This is really the only thing that matters this weekend. The Pope’s visit to Barcelona is going to cost us 6 million euros. Money that could be better employed in education, health, fixing up the streets, having better Christmas lights, promoting culture, making abortion totally legal, the list is endless, my blood boils. Nothing can be done to stop this visit, but we can damn well make lots of noise concerning how against this we are. The campaign Yo No Te Espero (I’m Not Waiting For You) are doing everything they can to raise awareness and make a commotion.

Turns out it’s national science week here in Spain and although that may sound sort-of boring, the French Institute in Barcelona are extending their activities to almost a month. There were be conferences, exhibitions and most importantly, workshops involving food. Almost all of the activities are free or very cheap, so it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re on a tight budget.

Beefeater In-Edit is still going strong. This music documentary festival will be going on until the 7th of November. This always causes great expectation and long queues are part of the fun, so make sure you get there quickly. Prices range from 6 euros for a single session to 60 euros for 15 sessions. Depends on the amount of documentary films you wish to see.
