Why is it that some weekends are stuffed full of things to do and others seem to be living through a cultural drought? Thank goodness this is one of those can’t stop for a moment weekends! Enjoy!

What with the beautiful weather that continues on and on, (please let this winter be nice, let there not be too much rain), bring on the outdoor festivals. Festival Raval(s) is the 2nd edition of this event, organized by Tot Raval. It is possible to download the entire 4-day programme and check out all the different activities that will be going on. From concerts to workshops, cinema screenings to traditional dances, there will be loads to do throughout the entire weekend.

CHEAP

The 2010 World Press Photo opened this past 4th of November and will be on until the 8th of December at the CCCB. The entrance fee is 4,50 euros but there are so many discounts available, that it would be strange to pay the full price. Be prepared to battle with the crowds, this annual exhibition is a favourite here in Barcelona and pulls in quite a crowd.

MIDWAY

From the 12th to the 20th of November, the 17th edition of the Independent Film Festival will be held at different venues around Barcelona. There will be short and long films, documentaries and awards. Each session costs 4,50 euros, which is not bad, but it will be practically impossible to see only one film, so the price does steadily creep up.

DIG IN YOUR POCKET

Blanc Festival is finally this weekend! Aside from the accumulative prices and faraway location of Vilanova i la Geltrú, all of audiovisual and design Barcelona will be making the trek to partake of the conferences and workshops on Friday and Saturday. Five workshops and 10 conferences, plus good food and a few parties make for a great event for both students and professionals. The perfect place to network a bit.
