This weekend seems to be all about music and movies, so there’s lots of options for the next few days.
CHEAP
The 16th edition of the Manga Salon is being held this weekend at La Farga. Of course it’s a pain in the neck to go all the way out to Hospitalet, but it’s really worth it. This is a massive meeting of all things freaky and the teenagers that normally have to hide their passion are given free-rein to create the most creative costumes based on their favourite Manga characters. Coinciding with Halloween this year, they won’t be out of place. The entrance is 6 euros, there are workshops, exhibitions, video games, stalls, karaoke competitions and Japanese food. Check out some photos from last year to see what’s going on.
If you haven’t had a moment to check out the Mariscal exhibition at La Pedrera, this weekend might be a good time. It will be on until the 30th of January, but since this is a long weekend, there probably won’t be all that many people to struggle with. The entrance is 4 euros but are always loads of discounts.
If the weather holds out, this might be a good moment to try out the ice creams at Vioko. I still haven’t been, hopefully this weekend. There is a wide range of strange and exciting flavours.
MIDWAY
On Saturday, it’s time to dress up for Retromorphosis at the Pueblo Nuevo Oveja Negra. 8 euros if you make the effort and outfit yourself, otherwise 10 euros. This time around the theme is the 20s, a great opportunity to get out the vintage clothes, have a drink and see the different shows that will be going on.
DIG IN YOUR POCKET
Yesterday saw the start of the much-acclaimed Beefeater In-Edit. This music documentary festival will be going on until the 7th of November. This always causes great expectation and long queues are part of the fun, so make sure you get there quickly. Prices range from 6 euros for a single session to 60 euros for 15 sessions. Depends on the amount of documentary films you wish to see.
Have a great time this weekend!
