Just a short boat ride away, Colonia in Uruguay is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Magnificent views, delicious food, cobbled streets and much-needed peace and quiet.

Muu Lecheria
If you want to escape awhile from the pizza, pasta and meat diet in Argentina, then a visit to Muu Lecheria is definitely a must. An American-style diner right in the heart of Palermo, with a great menu of diner classics such as milkshakes and nachos to Caesar salads and club sandwiches.
Agosto and San Telmo in Buenos Aires
There is an amazing amount of theatre plays going on in Buenos Aires. I was able to stop for a moment and catch “Agosto. Condado Osage” at the Lola Membrives theatre. I was a bit skeptical as the play lasts around 3 hours but it was absolutely brilliant! A skewed family where the father is an alcoholic, the mother is constantly doped up on pills, the three daughters all hide various secrets and the grandchild has a serious joint addiction. Time flies by as the story unfolds, at times darkly humorous, at others side-splitting hilarious.
Textile Museum in Buenos Aires and Other Sweet Nothings
I managed to locate the Textile Museum here in Buenos Aires this past week. Housed in a beautiful, old building, this is a very small collection of items, detailing the history of fashion. In keeping with the general atmosphere of the city, the museum is deliciously decrepit, with a cloying air of long-forgotten history. I’m so used to the items being behind glass that it came as a big surprise to find that the gorgeous dresses were hemmed in by a mere velvet rope. This is the closest I have been to such magical pieces of history. Absolutely irresistible, I couldn’t help myself and ended up coping a feel of the sumptuous fabrics.
