Is it possible to attain the perfect combination, a flawless mixture, a precise stimulation of the senses? The Escriba bakery located on Gran Via has managed this almost impossible feat. Following along the lines of their spectacular chocolate delicacies, they have put together the most sublime window display for Valentine’s Day. Chocolate heels, chocolate stilettos, a myriad of colours and textures.
A furry, fuchsia background adds a pop of extra colour to the tiers of carefully placed shoes. Several are placed inside of shoe boxes, adding to the sensation that these are real shoes. The exquisite attention to detail is absolutely breath-taking.
Every single element of these heels are constructed from chocolate. Buckles and straps, polka dots and sandals, broderie anglais and lace effect, all are created from this oh-so-sweet substance. This is a dream come true, shoes and chocolates, fused together in the best possible way.
The colours are vibrant, rich royal blues, gleaming gold, deep reds, creamy whites. Carrie Bradshaw would have a veritable heart attack. I had trouble breathing myself and it hardly seems possible that these heels are not for walking. I sigh and wish I could have one, but unfortunately, they’re not for sale. A terrible, terrible shame…
