Zapato Rojo

Lovely Convent Sant Agustí, once again it was necessary to make our way down to Borne to see yet another fashion market held there. Zapato Rojo was on this past weekend, the 19th and 20th of December 2009. The difference this time around was the load of really interesting proposals.

Considering the bloody freezing temperatures, there was a good amount of people and I’ve been told that it really picked up Sunday afternoon. Thank goodness for the clear skies and wintry sun. It was possible to receive a Grinberg method treatment to release tension. Tension due to all that shopping.

Different designers laid out their wares in the most creative way possible. The mood was festive and more than one person, me included, left with something new. Nuria of La Virgen de los Broches was there in good style.

She was sharing her little stall with Marielle Debethune of Oh… Design, who makes the cutest necklaces from glasses lenses.

I found the variety refreshing and had heart palpitations when seeing several of the items by: Tremenda Miranda, who makes the cutest bags and necklaces. Mariona Pere Mateu, who makes the most versatil dresses. Paulo Salinas, creating the most perfect shoes and boots ever. I’m still scrabbling around in my head how to come up with the 280 euros to buy his wood-block boots.

I have now added to my ever-growing brooch collection. It is beyond me to try and resist.

Nuyeyo is composed of two brothers and they make the perfect accessories out of plastic. I love this dear-head brooch. Reminds me of Sugar Rush’s logo.  The other brooch I laid my paws on is actually a hair clip, but it won’t be the first one I use as a brooch. Mimegusta has a collection of feathered items that are absolutely delicious.
