What is a wedding store to do if it has to close down? Why, celebrate the best event in Sabadell, with all sorts of activities programmed during this past Saturday 19th. Sí Quiero in Ribalta Novias was a cute combination of wedding acts such as cutting of cake, champagne, throwing of bouquets and the possibility to try on a dress, have a professional make-up session and photos taken.
There was a nostalgic, saddened feeling in the air; the shop is beautiful with authentic gems in the form of dresses from the 60′s to the 90′s. Vintage photos adorned the walls, lace snippets were laid out in every imaginable corner. The store’s very first client celebrated her second wedding; after 27 years, once again, she was married to her husband in the shop, in front of friends and family.
At one point there were about 15 different girls dressed in white. The bouquet launch was quite impressive. There’s something about that moment that instills hysteria into almost every girl.
I was finally roped into trying on a dress. I have to admit, I was mildly curious but that quickly changed when I saw myself in the mirror. Weddings may be beautiful, but they are just not for me. I’ll just stick to taking photos and writing about these types of events.
