What one finds walking along the streets of Barcelona! Since I’m very often surrounded by various people from Argentina, I’ve managed to catch on to their slang quite well. It’s even come to the point where I don’t feel the need for subtitles when watching an Argentinean film! So I was very delighted to find posters up around the city, brashly proclaiming various infamous phrases from Argentina slang.

Ponete la Remera is a Barcelona-based t-shirt company which has seen the niche to create cutely rude sayings from across the Atlantic. An impressive visual impact, simple but effective: black t-shirt with white lettering. The slogan is composed of a dictionary-style entrance. First, the word in big, block lettering, then below, the meaning and a sample of how the word itself is to be used.

Children’s sizes are available upon request. The t-shirts can be ordered online and have a special launch price of 15 euros. There are two stores in Barcelona that are now carrying the line. On the website there exists a whole slew of different phrases, as well as the possibility to send in new ones, which probably means there will be new models in next to no time. This is sure to be a great hit, both with Argentineans and Catalans. Right in time for Christmas too!
