This past weekend, (24th and 25th of October), was the 15th edition of Pulgas Mix. Evoking the sensations of flea markets around the world, the event is a platform for young designers to show off their goods in a relaxed atmosphere. This time around, the market was held at the Sant Agusti Convent in Borne. All types of activities were planned during the two days such as different DJs, workshops and cinema projections, to name just a few. The atmosphere is festive and there are usually a good amount of visitors during the two days.

I went just after lunch so things were a bit quiet. I find that it’s a great time, as you don’t have to elbow people out of the way to get to the tables. There was a general mix of various items on sale, from bags to jewellery, clothing to baby bibs, everything carried out with a lot of love. In my opinion it was the best edition so far, maybe people are more pressed to be creative due to the crisis, but there were some absolutely lovely items.

Here are a few of my favorites, which resulted in money being spent. La Virgen de los Broches is a curious mix of cameo brooches, bags and wool snoods. I especially like the lovely, kitsch brooches that Nuria makes.

One of the cat cameos came home with me. It looks absolutely incredible pinned to one of my various cardigans.

My next acquisition was another brooch, felt this time by Giraluna Accesorios. Brooches that convert to hair clips, necklaces and other beautiful things. Yes, I have a terrible penchant for brooches and collect them obsessively.

Next along the way was Anita de Trapo. Hair slides, necklaces, brooches and rings to name just a few. The ideas are simple but well-crafted, lending a romantic vibe to all of Ana’s pieces. I managed to stay well away from the brooches and opted for a ring inside.

Before I completely broke the bank, I finished off with a new bag. Unfortunately, I threw away the tag and have no way of knowing the name or webpage which seriously annoys me.

I had a very good time and will be going to the next edition. It’s nice to know that I have a few, new items that are unique and will not be on every girl at the next party, as that has happened to all of us, when buying from the high street.
