I was able to skip over this past Saturday 19 th to the inauguration of the new studio space shared by Dvein, Alex Trochut and Superexpresso. A loft-like space, very New York, which they have set up to be able to produce their creations. The food is on the scarce side, nothing sweet to eat, but there was enough to drink, which is always good news. The studio is located in Poble Nou in an old factory. The party was a success, with more than 200 people dropping by and lasting until the wee hours of the morning.

Dvein is a motion graphics and interactive studio. Some of their projects include working with Kyle Cooper on the title credits of the film Spiderman 3 or audiovisual installations for a Diesel catwalk show in the form of holographs which interacted with the models. A futuristic vision fused with a dream-like quality makes their work very easy on the eyes.
Alex Trochut is tucked away in a corner, albeit a big corner. A freelance graphic designer, Trochut excels in typography design and illustration. If you take a walk in Plaza Real right now, there is a huge billboard for Estrella Damm by Alex Trochut. The same billboard can be seen when coming into Barcelona from the airport. Incredibly adept at what he does, Trochut’s designs bring to mind an earthy, organic, sensuous sensation, with a fluidity of shape and form. His work always makes me feel hungry. His webpage is very easy to use and very endearing.

To round off the trio, Superexpresso is a one-man, freelance graphic designer. Working on projects as diverse as designing record covers for AI Records for their 10th anniversary or the summer campaign for Estrella Damm in Mallorca and Ibiza. Superexpresso’s work has a fun, sometimes surrealist touch. His attention to color palettes is fabulous.

These are people that are very good at what they do and have opted to stay in Barcelona at least for the time being. Hopefully there will be many more parties and celebrations for them!
