American style dining in now possible in Barcelona thanks to Big J’s Burger diner located in the Raval area. I went to try it out this week and ordered a cheese burger, fries and a coke. The hamburger was pretty good, although I have had better ones. The diner is slightly disorganized due to few staff to deal with the about of people that pour in. The staff could also be dressed accordingly, with cute uniforms to go along with the atmosphere of the place. The best option is to arrive before 21:00, it fills up quick.

The music is excellent, although a bit too loud, so much that it makes the joint really noisy as everyone has to talk quite loud. There is a good variety of food, such as hot-dogs, milkshakes (that looked really good), salads, several types of burgers and pancakes.

The attention to detail is good. Big J’s Burger manages to capture the original feeling and spirit. The quality for price is also interesting, which is always a plus, especially in the times that we’re living in economically. As an all around experience I’ll definitely be going back, this time to try the pancakes. The space could be used better, organizing all sorts of activities such as dance competitions or movie projections. It’s not a complete 10, but it is very fun.
