Happinés in Photography
I was with the lovely Inés Ormazabal a few days ago and was able to have a quick chat with her about her photography work. She is from Bilbao but has been living here for the last five years. She arrived in 2002 to study photography and later on decided to stay.
Light and Magic during La Merce 09
The visual magic is created by Nueve Ojos studio with Mariona Omedes heading up the project as director, (her website is very user-friendly and fun), and Cosmo AV based in France, developing the technical installation. Inspirations and images were used to promote the 50th anniversary of Amades, Ildelfons Cerda’s designs in Barcelona, typical Catalan traditions such as castellers, emblematic icons of the city such as Gaudí’s Casa Batlló and Istanbul, which is the visiting city during this year’s Mercè festivities.
Three in One: Dvein, Alex Trochut and Superexpresso
I was able to skip over this past Saturday 19 th to the inauguration of the new studio space shared by Dvein, Alex Trochut and Superexpresso. A loft-like space, very New York, which they have set up to be able to produce their creations.
Sugar Rush at Modafad
Sugar Rush by Kitsch & Bizarre ticks all the right boxes that give me a head rush when dealing with clothes. Sweetly sexy without being sickly due to such bizarre elements as animal and doll heads used as decorative motifs. It’s like if Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dali had a child while on some sort of psychedelic substance. Feathers and fur, frills, tulle, fabulous prints, eye and animal motifs, a sumptuous color palette, all dusty roses, dirty greens, mellow yellows, off-whites, rich chocolate browns… enough to make the mouth water.
